Research:
I work in the interdisciplinary research project HESCOR as a research assistant in the working group of Prof. Dr. Angela Kunoth. My work focuses on calculating effective distances between archaeological sites using least-cost path analysis (LCPA). I employ wavelet methods, using their approximation and adaptive refinement properties to accelerate the transformation and use of topographic data for LCPA.
- “Wavelet Image Compression: Mathematical Foundations and Its Application to Least-Cost Path Analysis on Archaeological Cost-Maps”, Bachelor Thesis, October 2025.
- Poster: L. Perlberg, M. Brockmann, "Creating migration networks based on archaeological data using least-cost-path analysis" , Rhein-Ruhr-Workshop, January 2025.
I am part of the mentoring program by Hypatia.Science, an initiative for the promotion of young female scientists at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Cologne.
